I as an Iranian believe we can never close our eyes to the hardship and misery of our Afghan bothers and sisters. We always have to try to help them as much as possible and reasonable.

But to Afghans I also want to say that Iran is not a rich country like Europe, US or Canada. BUT EVEN THEY WOULD NOT ALLOW MILLIONS OF REFUGEES TO COME TO THEIR COUNTRY IN SUCH A SHORT TIME. They always take in very small numbers. So appreciate what Iran tried to give to you.

That is not a fair thing to say. The Afghans in Iran have ran away from war, devestation, and death. The majority of Afghans living in Iran work where work is available. They may committ their share of crimes, but we cannot blame every ill in the society on the Afghan population in Iran.

One of my close friends in university (in iran) was afghan and he had rights like other citizens. but the large number of unprivileged afghans in iran and economic problems and sanctions makes it difficult. Afghans are the closest peoples of the world to iranians and actually, i personality dont think of them as foreigners. hope, afghanistan be free of war and extrimism soon.

True, we were not perfect in our treatment of our guests. The majority of Afghans came to Iran in mass numbers in the early 80s. Iran itself was under a lot of durress at the time, the Iraqi aggression and brutal war against our people, food & fuel shortages, everything rationed, massive unemployment, economic sanctions But we did lent a hand to our Afghan guests as we should have.
