30-06-09 Worlds coming down over various reasons.
First of all, we have a new member: Maximilian Eberl. Welcome. Summer's hitting Holland hard dude! And oh boy is it hot today? Yes it is... I attempted to work (sort of) in the sun today by delivering a letter to a mailbox. I was sweating all over. Better stay in the shade till like six pm.

On a completely different note: I was kinda surprised to find an email in my inbox today that contained an mp3 file named 'Neda'. Those of you that followed the news in the past few weeks will most certainly shout 'that's the name of that girl that was shot in Tehran last week'! The face of a movement! Exactamundo!
It was was written and performed by some of our friends in Iran and perhaps you'll find it online here in a very fast while. Or perhaps ya won't. I don't know. Download? Anyone? On a different note: the USA is also in turmoil these days. Not over politics but over the death of a pop culture icon. Yes ma' am, the king of pop, Michael Jackson died last week at the age of fifty. Way to young if you ask me. I find it astonishing that earth's population literally cursed the man on one moment (alleged child molestation and holding his son over the bars of a balcony) and adored him the moment he was dead. I really find that the strangest thing. You saw the exact same thing when ex Russian president Boris Yeltsin died. Cursed by the end of his term and loved as soon he died. Like we say in Dutch: 'over de doden niets dan goeds.' (nothing bad about the dead.)
The real hassle is gonna start now. Mike was in debt but he also owned a few pieces of real estate n stuff that you and me will not be able to afford in his lifetime. That must be worth a buck or two. So here comes the million dollar question: who will inherit it? Let's not hope that his family, friends, business associates and the like will end up in a legal bare knuckle fight over the pie. Large amounts of money do have the power to turn the most rational human being into a pillaging vulture so it'll probably happen anyway. No matter what I write here. Do remember, dear relatives, friends, business associates, et cetera: Mike will probably look down on you with a tear in his eyes if he sees you legally beating the crap out of each other.
That concludes today's moral chitchat. As for a final thought: I wonder if Michael Jackson was ever TRULY happy.......
